SC : Chat : Rules of behaviour (netiquette)
User code of behaviour (netiquette)
- Don't harass others and don't respond to provocations.
- Don't flame any wars, especially not on the basis of nationality and race.
- Don't flood the chat rooms with text.
- Don't use profanity in your messages.
- Do not indulge in destructive behaviour which reduces the functionality of our chat servers (such as running clonebots/floodbots/nick colliders - this can lead to your system admin being notified).
- Don't advertise anything!
- Do not use uppercase excessively in your texts. Uppercase means "SHOUTING" and it's unpleasant in both real life and IRC.
Simply, be polite and don't get into any fights. Enjoy our chat rooms!
Operator code of behaviour (OP netiquette)
The role of an operator is not to kick people around, but to help them. Helping others includes answering their questions about chat related problems on Chat pohelp discussion board. Operator rules of behaviour extend the regular users' rules with following clauses:
- Vulgar behaviour and herassment is strictly prohibited. This includes your scripts as well, and is meant in all languages.
- Оperators should be an example to others.
- Private messages are just private messages. Don't kick people based on their private conversations. Teach them how to use ignore and silence commands.
- Don't give an OP to regular users.
- Don't deOP any regular operators.
